We all piled into our big bus for about 2 hours and visited the Budvar Budwieser Brewery. So if you are into beer and stuff, then this place is for you. After this brief and refreshing excursion we reached the Czech village of Kutna Hora. First stop, the bone castle. Creepy, yet very cool. All of the bones were from victims of the black plague. Try not to breath while you are there, I heard one girl caught the black plague as a result. Painful experience but modern technology saved her life...just barely. But really though. The interior of the castle was filled with bones cleverly put together to create a morbidly gorgeous chandelier. Clever of them, although, I'm not sure how I would have felt make such a masterpiece out human bones.
The small town of Kutna Hora, is quaint and lovely. There is a really nice sized cathedral overlooking the village. We visited it on the second day.
Our next stop was Cesky Krumlov, which is beautiful. The perfect little village has a nice fortress wall around it, orange rooftops, and a river that runs through it. This place is so awesome that it is actually on the list for Unesco World Heritage Sites. We went along the castle and they were holding bears captive in the waterless moat. Actually the bears looked pretty content in their sleepy ways. They were quite the attractive from the young to the old. We had an opportunity to walk around the village. Quite touristy, I find it rather comparable to say, Estes Park, CO or West Yellowstone, MT. There's plenty of vendors, and musicians to entertain you along the way. On our final day we went rafting along the river. The weather was perfect. You started out with the village surrounding you as you rafted, but soon the houses and building would disappear. Until, it was your raft and tall trees on either side of you. It was so peaceful and relaxing. The cold water below and the warm sun from above to keep you and your raft mates company. We couldn't have asked for a better way to end the trip.
